Well, what do you know. It’s been 10 years since the UK handed over Hong Kong to China. I still remember all the magazines I subscribe to in 1997 (June 25) talking, gesticulating, wondering, or just gossiping about the fate of the former British colony. It turns out there’s not much to fear, as the island is as capitalist as you can enjoy these days. And still a lot of shopping fun. Well, some Asian stars were there during the anniversary, and what surprised me was seeing Zhang Ziyi looking so great and a bit fleshy, especially in her face. Is she pregnant? During their Mother’s Day show promoting their new album Play last Sunday, S.H.E. invited their moms onstage and basically preened before the cameras. My question is, why do these girls look so hot and their mothers don’t? Were they all adopted?

One of the most famous Asian female singings acts, S.H.E. recently launched their new album Play in a refreshingly wedding motif. Here, the three members ( Selina Ren, Hebe Tian and Ella Chen) make things cloyingly sweet, which would have been bad, only I can’t really complain. I’ll take any one of them, anytime — even the short-haired one that looks like a lesbian.
