Nope, this isn’t me making an extreme scanning colorizing mistake; these are the actual scans of Kristine Hermosa’s appearance in this month’s Uno magazine.
What’s up with Uno and Maxim these days? They seem to be hell bent on doing the men’s magazine equivalent of taking a dump on the dinner table. A girl like Kristine is already stunning as she is — without make-up, without any fancy photoshop filter, without wearing anything on. Why someone have to mess it up with the colors and make her look less of a human and more a marble statue, it blows my mind. Remember last month when Maxim tried its best to make Roxanne Guinoo as un-Roxanne-like as possible?

I have to agree with “Hugh Ja’Coc” and “armany”. Kristine usually looks gorgeous but the way these photos have been edited makes her look like an ugly alien. The skin tone makes her look like one of the Roswell captives who escaped.

i don’t have anything against digital editting (photoshop or whatsoever.) because i am a digital artist myself. but PLEASE!!!
do it PROPERLY! there’s an art to it you know? Filipinas have unique physical characteristics that pleases filipinos in ways yet to be described in pin point accuracy.
you simply can’t edit them the way you edit brazilians/hollywood actressses. so try to hold yourself from using those dodge, liquify, etc… tools too much. study your model. learn the racial differences and try to use your inherent masculine instincts to determine what’s acceptable and what’s rubbish.
wait, are you even a guy, you Photoshopper, you?
i hope you practiced enough before you get printed again for the next issue. (that goes to your editor as well!) the pages these were printed on were just a waste of precious trees, my friend.

She’s absolutely gorgeous. UNO magazine’s staff (whoever he/she is, photo editor) made her look less beautiful than she already is. Too much editing. That’s a shame because she’s really beautiful and stunning in person.

did it ever occur to you guys that MAYBE it was kristine herself who asked that her image be EDITED in that manner.
because you see, cover girl’s images being the main feature of the magazine ARE FOR APPROVAL. by the magazine’s board, publishers, editors and so on.,.. and that includes the covergirl herself.
actually, the editors of this photo underwent humongous hassle just so they could bronze her, by her own request.
how did I know?
I just happen to know someone in UNO.

did it ever occur to you guys that maybe, it was kristine herself and not the artist that made the image look lame?
because you see, cover girl images being the main feature of magazines are actually for approval by several people. by the board, publishers, advertisers, editors and even by the cover girl herself.
think of this guys, what if she was the one who requested that her body be bronzed that way? is that impossible? certainly NOT!
the artists have enough knowledge on what is pleasant to the eyes and what is not, they had sufficient training. that’s why they are hired, simple logic peeps.
they won’t do something like this unless approved by someone with authority, and who has that authority? of course the COVER GIRL herself!
how do I know all these, simple. I know the artists of UNO.

well, did it ever occur to you that an artist’s job is not just to follow what a dang client or someone in authority tells him/her what to do but harmoniously combine everybody’s ideas ESPECIALLY his/her into one solid solution and at the same time maintaining aesthetics. hmmm?
yeah, these artist have the so-called eye for beauty, the training blah, blah, blah - but just look at those pictures. simple logic indeed but it makes me think that they could’ve done a better job or couldn’t they?
and hey, you said “they won’t do something like this unless approved by someone with authority” you’re making it sound that it was the artists’ idea to make the pictures look ridiculous.
the magazine needs good art direction. and these are just criticisms man. i’m pretty sure what you read about here aren’t the most negative. and please, don’t try to justify the poor editing just because you know the artists. mmmkay?

hahahha, yeah right she wants to be bronzed but she wouldn’t want her bellybutton as big as that! and the artist made her boobs look too uneven. as a homebased graphics artist and team leader retoucher for a foreign company’s opinion, UNO’s designer had liquified kristine’s body too much, plus the edges look too flat! hahhahahha, i agree with what DOS said, maybe it was a newbie who edited the pix!!!! maybe UNO should hire me instead!!!!!! whoever edited kristine’s pix, you suck!!!!

so anonymous, you’re gonna put the blame on Kristine? dude, who would know better about these things, the art director/ creative team or the model? for all we know she scrammed her way out the moment she got her paycheck. besides, kristine hermosa? i think there’s no questioning how hot she is! she can go in any pose/get up and still command erections on a national scale! all that UNO needs to do is to do justice to her beauty which wasn’t done in this particular issue.
so, even if it was Kristine herself who asked for these lame mods, still the bottom line is: whoever edited these photos sucked big time! give your friend a pat on the back tell him/her to try and do better next time. we’ll wait for it.
