Flesh Asia Daily Is One Year Old Today
Last year, on April 10, 2007, I posted the very first Flesh Asia Daily blog post (which was then on Blogger), which was some scans of Toni Gonzaga’s appearance in Uno.
Okay, let me say that again: that was April 10; today’s April 12. I should have written this two days ago but I was too drunk to care. We’re not too uptight about exact dates, aren’t we?
Anyway, my idea for the blog was simple: just upload all my precious celebrity photos online so I can share them with buddies who might “need” them. Of course, I would usually accompany every set of hot pictures with some nasty commentary, which isn’t really different from the stuff guys talk about when there’s no pussy around and there’s only beer and porn and stories about the girls you’ve fucked. Which is me saying this blog isn’t about kindness or prudence or meant to be read by your grandmom, although I know at least one grandmom who reads this.
So Flesh Asia Daily was on Blogger. All was well, until somehow people saw the blog and began contributing photos and tips. By December 2007, with the second or third suspension from Google (who kept on mistaking me for a spam blog), I decided to migrate Flesh Asia Daily to its own web host and use Wordpress instead. Hence, the “2.0” in this blog’s header.
Now, Flesh Asia Daily 2.0 currently has an Alexa rank of 32,929 [data as of today]. It is read by about 4,000 to 5000 folks like you and I generating an average of 30,000 page views (based on the month of April) everyday. And that’s not yet counting the occasional spike in traffic brought about by “scandals” — Edison “I fuck everybody” Chen once brought 25,000 uniques on a single day last month. While Ira Eigenmann dragged 40,000 uniques generating more than 150,000 page views in a two-day period during the last week of March.
Thanks to everyone who has supported this site and hopefully, by August 2008, (if negotiations with somebody who actually has shitloads of money go okay), Flesh Asia Daily 2.0 will be sitting in its own shiny new dedicated server — thus, ridding us of that annoying Error 503 messages and CPU quota exceeded errors. There will no longer be much downtime, and the pages will be served lightning fast. Yay!
Keep yer fingers crossed. Meanwhile, happy birthday to this blog. I’m off to pump more alcohol into my veins and wear women’s clothing.
