Meisa Kuroki Is ‘Vexille’

I recently saw Fumihiko Sori’s CGI anime film Vexille, and I gotta say it totally blew my mind away. It’s about a future where android technology has become so advanced that it’s outlawed by the UN because of its threat to the human race, to which robot hub Japan responds by withdrawing from the UN and doing the unthinkable: it isolates itself from the rest of the world. Japan eventually becomes a total enigma.
If you’ve been a fan of stuff like Appleseed, Vexille is even better. I’d say it’s approaching Matrix territory in terms of excitement and wow factor. Several times I found myself with my mouth actually hanging open in some of the most intense scenes. So when I say “edge of your seat entertainment,” I totally mean it.
What’s more, Vexille (the heroine) is dubbed by hottie halfling Meisa Kuroki. So that instantly quadruples Vexille’s “watchability.”
The video above is Meisa Kuroki in an interview about the film, which is completely useless to folks who don’t understand the language, but I’m including anyway just so you can see how she actually talks. Absolutely lovely.
