Filipina Super Model Charo Ronquillo Is Going Places

Charo Ronquillo is a fast-rising star on New York’s fashion runways. She has already made it to the pages of Vogue, Glamour and other top fashion and beauty magazines, as well as high-profile ad campaigns. Still in her teens (she’s 19, by the way), some think she’s the new Anna Bayle, but I prefer to consider her as the Asian Kate Moss.
The Nineteen-year-old is touted to be the next Anna Bayle, the Filipina supermodel in the ’80s. Charo is based in New York and plans to penetrate the European fashion capital of Paris as well.

Only a year and a half after becoming the first Asian model to make it to the top three in the Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World competition, Ronquillo has shot for top retailers, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Ann Taylor, BCBG by Max Azria, Catherine Malandrino, J Crew. She has recently done “go-sees” for Prada, YSL, Marc Jacobs, Richard Chai, Jil Sander, Philip Lim, Valentino, Badgely Mishka, Issey Miyake and Vera Wang.
Last year, Ronquillo did a shoot with top photographer Bruce Weber for Ralph Lauren’s American Living. Diane Von Furstenberg likes her so much that Ronquillo has served as fitting model for the designer several times.
A native of Cabuyao, Laguna, Ronquillo and her siblings were raised by their grandmother while their mother worked overseas to support the family. She had always wanted to model and began entering contests early. But her first true break didn’t come until she won the prestigious Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World Philippines, produced by Runway Productions.

CHARO RONQUILLO is not going places. Its been almost 2 years since she placed at he SUPERMODEL OF THE WORLD INTERNATIONAL FINALS.
Her batch mate, CHANEL IMAN is already a supermodel…. CHARO is not even close to her.
HYONI, from KOREA, won last year and CHARO is not the only ASIAN runner up in the SMOW competition.
IF CHARO is dong well in NYC, she will not be back in MANILA for the fashion week… COMMON SENSE right?

come on modelcitizen give her a break. maybe she cannot take the oversex image & lifestyle that a supermodel has. from the fotos above there isn’t a single photoshoot with too much skin so maybe the kind of modeling that oversexed supermodels such as gisselle bundchen isn’t for charo.
